Changes to Scripted Quests

Post by terryrayc » Sat Oct 07, 2006 7:34 pm

I'm started to introduce level based scripted quests. What this means is that you must be atleast level X to take the quest and you must have the quest in order to enter the quest area.

Why?

Simple I am designed quests with a set party level in mind. In order to make the quest a challenge for that party I've designed the traps, puzzles and encounters for the average party. To keep the number of Player deaths down I've locked the quests to a min level.

I know what most of you are going to say....well that encourages PGing...well maybe, but there are not many places in Arkaz to PG and please don't let us catch you.

Now because I'm gearign the quests to Level X, that means they will be hard for your character and as such you might be able to complete them or you might not so the rewards will reflect the challenge. So ya if it takes you several tries and you lose xp because of raises and such...do not worry I took that into account and made the quests worth it.

I've also started making multi part quests, so you will find an npc gives you the first part at level 3 then the next at level 6 then 10..etc....not that those are the levels..it all depends on the quest itself.

None of these quests can be repeated, also once you complete a quest you may not be able to reenter that area...some quests you can some you cannot.

That's about all I have to say on scripted quests...expect if anyone would like to help design new quests please let me know.
