I fail to see how there could be a split in loyalty if the guard is what they are. Wouldn't the guard always pull rank over the mage guild? From what I have read it doesn't look like the mage guild is going to be another protection faction of the island, but a guild willing to help the guard. So, if something was to occur within the mage guild wouldn't the guard also have to be notified if it was in the best interest of the citizen's of Nuvar? Wouldn't the guard and/or Navy always pull rank?

well I thoughts for the mage school as that the mages in it would be loyal to the school first...true they would aid the guard in all things dealing with magic but their first loyalty would be to the school itself.

Now that being said the team has decided to not have an issue...we'll see what happens. Players can join both.

That is understandable. I know that Ril for one wouldn't share any information outside of the mage guild that was privilaged info. Same as he wouldn't share the guard privlaged info. I think the key is to keep them seperate when RPing in both but to also be able to use the knollege gained in the school to help the Army by using the spell but not sharing(as in making scrolls for non-mage guild members, ect.) it with mages outside of guild members or something like that? I'm sure you have some sort of plan cooking up and if you want any suggestions I'm sure any one of us would be willing to pitch in a few.
