Well we've come out of Beta with Nuvar, and its almost a month since i asked this, but it would really help to get some feedback from you guys on how you think its going.

Whats been good for you? Whats been not so good?

Please be honest and help us make Islands even better.

Thanks

A few things that I've liked/dissliked:

I like the fact that gold/items/xp is really low, or atleast that's what I've noticed.

The one thing that I would like to see improved a little would be ingrediants for crafting to be more accessable. Because of the low xp and items, it's really hard for a new player to get gold or xp when they can only get 20 or so at a time. Now I can understand that you'd be afraid of powercrafting.

I am still very happy here have had time to investigate most of the island, still need to go to the Island of Iron though.

Spawns are starting to get tougher and for the most part are well balanced. This includes having the easier ones like the zombies and crabs dropping off in XP to the point they are not worth the effort.

Crafting items although sparse force investigation of the island. A few more tulips would be good for new players.

The DM surprise interactions that come out of nowhere are great.*looks at Pixie Al* Seems like it also does not take long for new characters to realize that when the ground shakes to watch out for undead.

Still a fan of the low gold and item world. I think we will see off world players here just to take a look around at what the islands has to offer. They will fare poorly looking to sell anything here as there is very little gold and characters here will have little gold to invest if they go off world.
*Bodaks now?*
Little things to get characters involved in the world like the building of the forge near the mines is a nice idea. Though this one only affected the miners I would imagine it could be expanded to other areas as well.

The upcoming Fed-X auto quest system will give a way to build up your character a bit when other players are not on line or in the area.

Shared component chests in the town hall. I am personally using this as a way for my character and others to stock and exchange items IG. Why would I want to trash something I found IG just because I cannot use it, so I place it in the chest for other characters to use.

Crafting system is similar to Avlis but the ingredients seem to have a more logical flow to them with the higher level items building from what you learned from lower items.

The thought that goes into items given to characters, like Sonja's necklace, Cat's cloak or Nat's swords. Although none of these are in the least bit powerful they are based upon key points in the characters development and hold special meaning for them.

Little things like being able to help Terry with the lost soul script for Nat's illness. I think we spent almost four hours on that as he tweaked code and we tried again. I enjoyed that immensely.

And last but not least, the quality of the RP I see here. The other players here make me jealous and give me a goal to shoot for.

Dislike
The only place they seem a bit too hard is in the northern crypts. Two or three players entering the second level are producing over two dozen skeleton warriors. They immediately will take out any summons you have and the characters soon afterwards. When we went to retrieve other characters goods it was all we could do just to make it through most of in stealthed or invisible. As it stands right now I would not enter that place on a bet, Helthor's minions are safe from me.

Some of the auto spawns are a bit tough here like running into grizzly bears. If I had a belt of flying fists or some of the easily purchasable items on Avlis it may be a different story. Alone and seeing them it is basically get away quickly.

Alignment adjustments are a bit difficult here unless you want evil or chaotic which the engine handles by itself. Perhaps an auto quest like in Elysia for the farmers daughter for good. I personally feel though that lawful should be given out DM only.

A few more players would be nice as most of the ones I play with are about six hours out of sync for me so either they have to play late or me early. Fortunately I do get out of work before 15:00 my time so we do have time to play.

Crafting equipment eating supplies. Not a real problem as I know it is being debugged.
