Sorry, I never had time to replace the cpu fan and the system is set to power down in the event of a fan failure. I'll fix it when I get home.

and it went back down. CPU is still getting too hot even with a new fan...Might need to apply some better paste. I'll work on it real quick.

okay atleast I know the hardware failure system works like a champ 
I scrapped off the old paste and replace it with a thin coap of Antec Reference Silver....some of the best and it seems to be holding fine now. Was spiking to 200f now it's sitting at 155f which is well within norms. Should be good now.
