Player Website: Faction Tracking?

So, was just poking around on my player website page.
(Casting my RPotM vote, noticed I've got rent due tomorrow, Einar's died 20 times [that total, or just Arkaz?])
And I noticed something called the "faction tracker."
What is/was this, and is it as awesome a thing as it sounds like to me?
