Alot of people seem to greatly enjoy playing on Arkaz. I hear alot of good
things about it and wanted to get to know it more for myself.
I usually play on Avlis and I enjoy the custom race system. I noticed that
Custom Races are available on Arkaz, but I am left with some questions. The
Custom Race thread says to log into "The Isle of Iron", but there is no
longer an Isle of Iron. Are custom races still available?
If Custom Races are still available, then the next issue is, I cannot find
any information on the Arkaz forums regarding the Custom Races. For example,
on Avlis, a Half-Ogre gains +5 STR, -1 DEX, -1 CHA and -2 INT, as well as
Cleave as a bonus starting Feat. In PnP, a Half-Ogre's Favored Class is
Barbarian; on Avlis it's Fighter. The habits, customs, and lifestyles of
Arkaz Custom Races would be helpful as well.
If Custom Races are done on a case-by-case basis, I would be happy to submit
an application for one, but it would be easier with the formentioned
information.
Thank you for yout time

Custom race information can be found here
Some of the races may require backgrounds sending to the team for approval, but the copapwide 'standard' custom races such as goblin, wemic, ogre, lizardman are immediately accessible

I appreciate all the Arkaz Team responses to my email. I do have some more questions on this subject though.
In the "About the World" Forum, there is information on Gnolls and Wemics, but nothing about what Islands/places goblins, kobolds, lizardmen or half-ogres would come from. What would be acceptable places of origin for these races? Are there any Arkaz specific customs/animosity/alliances regarding custom race history that I should be aware of before making one?

ICly there are seperate islands where the races have located and colonized. The shared island (Eachna) of Gnolls and Wemics was destroyed by the maker a while back during an event on the red dragon Nithhogr. As I recall in the first days of Arkaz when Sonja arrived the Maker was portaling people here from other worlds without their concent and trapping them here. This was prior to the opening of the portal to the infinite stairs. So Sonja is not really a native to Arkaz under that premise although OOCly it is where she was created.
I really hate to punish you but if you want an overvies of a great deal of the history or Arkaz? Read the "Journal of Sonja Pyre". This comes with a warning though as it is extremely long and is OOC information. The only aliance I am aware of is between the elves on the Enchanted Isle and the inhabitants of Nuvar.
