I looked on the boards for similar issues, which were reported a year ago and were supposed to be fixed. Created a new character and wanted to make a customer race. Met all the requirements. I said the name and confirmed. It "exploded" me and kicked me out, when I log back in, Im still the same race in the start menu. Are there still issues?

What Time and what gamespy/character name?

Of course I try 5 times over the course of 3 days and it doesnt work, then I sit on it for a couple weeks and PM the team and POOF. it works. You guys are majick!

Ok .. i learned something: A second program needs to be running for custom races to be generated.
Now i was able to create a changeling again on Islands.

Happy testing and poke me in irc when that system crashed again.

THis thread best fits the issue I am having, I tried to make a Tiefling and it did everything ok until i relogged in, and it went to install her race skin/hide, it keeps saying that it can not install a unidentified item, even when i go into my inventory first and identify it. I tried to ask on IRC but no one was on, SHould I just go on and grab a DM later to fix this? or wait in the customizer area, for now i just logged her off in the customizer area.

Try hotkeying it to your hotkeybar after it's IDed and then klick on it.
You can remove the hotkey afterwards by equipping something else on it and removing that.
That might fix it, if not please let us know.

I had this problem in the past with both a ghost elf and an aasimar. I corrected it by taking the character to Ysgard and portal to Avlis and then back. Worked for me both times.

edit: kinda she doesn't seem to have her darkness 1/day ability, but the elemental resistance seems to be working.

The darkness 1/day ability needs to be given by a DM.

So, I've already mostly incorporated this into my affected characters. Still, another player suggested I report it.
(Specifically, Garth suggested I report it after I mentioned it to him last night.)

Custom race characters don't seem to get the right languages. This seems true for characters made on Arkaz as well as here. Specifically:

Richy (Ysgard native) Half-nymph, does not have slyvan or any other Fey language. Does have Elven.
Beta (Arkaz Native) Half-nymph, same.
Rodia (Ysgard Native) Aasimar, has elven, does not have Celestial.
Einar (Arkaz Native) Stone Dwarf (i.e. Dwarf/Gnome hybrid) has Dwarven, but not Gnomish.
Erin (Partner's Character, Arkaz Native) Sun Elf, does not have Elven (has only Common, Animal, and Magic, due to wizard and ranger levels.)

I don't expect anything to be done about the listed characters (especially the Ysgard ones!). Just listing the examples I know about to provide as much relevant data as I can.

(As I said, I've already Incorporated the above into the characters' RP. Einar and Erin are 2nd/3rd generation or more citizens of their world's equivalent of the U.S. so... Makes sense they might not know their ancestral languages. Richy basically has no idea how he knows Elven and doesn't know Fey, but chalks it up to dying and turning up on Ysgard. Rodia, I'm not sure she even knows she's an Aasimar, and hasn't heard Elven spoken, so probably doesn't realize she knows it, either. Beta similarly.)

I have also reported this to Ysgard.
