sigh, looks like the rent script isn't just right. I'll take a look.

Seems no error in the rent script to me Terry.
If you're not in the DB as being renting the cottage, it makes sense it takes away the key.
As Moonyju rented the cottage for the first time in the period we lost due to the issues the DB of course does not recall her renting it now we're running on the backup.

Or am I overlooking something ?

sounds right. I'm doing some maintenance today to make things more stable. I'll dig through everything tonight to make sure the scripts are correct.

If you lapse by more then a specific time limit, that happens. It would be nice if it allowed you renew even after lapsing as long as the cottage was not re-rented. If it was not re-rented a DM may be able to recover the contents, if it was, the chest is wiped clean.
