I know i slated it pretty heavily when it came out, as i didnt believe it was suited for multiplayer, and actually still dont.
However, as a single player game, this one is actually pretty damn good. I finally dug it out again having seen the screenshots of the Avlis 2 beta, and it certainly looks amazing. Comparing it to NWN from an engine perspective can give some disappointments, but approached as a completely independant game i reckon its worth a look.
I'm only a short way into it but the story is good, the character development of party members is fun, the music is spot on and so are the graphics. And it runs on my fairly elderly machine, with a vid card i bought last year which is nice.
So heres a belated rave to NWN2

Having lost faith recently with things I've been playing a bit of NWN2. I must say it seriously gives me a lot of ideas, both as a builder and a ex-DM. Some classes are not as they were (bards ((surprise, surprise)) that I played that one) but generally it's a pretty major advance. The interface needs a bit of work or play time so you can get used to it but on the whole I'd have to say it's a bit of an improvement over NWN 1. The biggest downer is the toolset which is massively cumbersome and unwieldly. I'd rather build NWN2 stuff but it's just going to take some getting used to. Generally though, I'd give NWN2 a rave.
