Clerics without deities

Gene has given up Braellis and has no intention to immediately seek a new patron. As I like to say, he's gone Ronin. What are my choices for his spells? Not cast them at all? Have him still say his prayers to any goodly powers that see fit to grant them? Anything else?

Clerics without dieties will still be able to cast spells, however with the -4 penalty. This is due to the gods always attempting to attract new worshipers.
