The CoPaP.org, Tairisnadur.com and Ysgard.org forum databases are safe. However, if you used the same password on all sites, I would recommend that you change your passwords.

It would be unwise to also change your passwords on the Hades or Outlands websites to the same one you're changing the other sites to, as they are hosted by him.

Thank you!

If anyone is worried about the security here, I want to reassure you all that our servers are secured. If you did use the same password across all the CoPaP websites, it is advisable to change your forum password. Regularly changing your password is good practice for general security in any case. ;)

As true as that is, I chose not to trust someone who has shown they can't be trusted when it was such little effort on my part to make sure. I certainly didn't think this scenario was "realistic" before yesterday. :?

Please also remember that the databases were taken. Any and all information contained in that database is accessable to him. This would include but not be limited to IP addresses, CD Keys, Gamespy information and possibly name address and phone number. Remember this is a DB and it is not hard at all to link the data to show every ID that used an IP as just an example. Remember these databases are what is used to track down banned players who try to to sneak back on CoPaP!

If we changed our password on Gamespy, he shouldn't be able to attempt to log into the game as us, right? He'd only have our old password.

If your gamespy password matched your forum account password, it is advisable to change it, and yes, it will keep your account secure and ensure no-one is able to login as you. If they were different, you don't need to worry about the security of your gamespy account as the passwords/etc for those are stored with Bioware's servers and no CoPaP (or NWN) world has access to them.

I'd also like to clarify a few details noted in an earlier post, regarding what is and isn't actually logged in the database:

Is:
- GameSpy Name (ie: DM Thor)
- Public CDKey (this comprises of a few letters, nothing more: http://lore.layonara.com/PublicCDKey )
- IP Address used at login

What is not available to us (or any NWN world) includes:
- Full CDKeys
- Gamespy Passwords
- Addresses
- Phone Numbers
