I've just finished up with a new bank system that should be appearing in the near future. Keep your eye out for it!
But this announcement has another purpose. I would encourage EVERYONE to use the bank so that we can give it a good test. Play around with the menus. Try to break it. DO NOT, however, deposit any significant amount of gold, please (under 5000 should be a good rule-of-thumb). Caveat emptor. Let the buyer beware. If you find any bugs or exploits, please PM me ASAP and I'll see that they're squished.
Why do we have a bank when PCs have no real incentives to use one since they can carry around their gold with them everywhere including when they die? Well, for starters, your gold in the bank will earn interest. And we'll be thinking of some other reasons you might not want to carry around 3,894,129 gold pieces without a care in the world.
Edit: The most frequently asked question when I talk about this with other players is, "Will I be able to store items?" Not yet. Right now all you have is a savings account. I'm tossing around ideas on how to store items through the bank. But it's a bit down the road before that happens. And rest assured that when it does happen, it won't be like having your own inn chest without having an inn room. The storage will be quite limited and you'll be paying the bank to do it.

I can't really see the point of having a bank, other than it's totally stupid that players carry round hundreds of thousands or even millions of gold. I tried it on the PW that I ran, where gold was counted as part of the encoumberance, so players had an insentive to deposit their gold. Not sure it worked well.

There's a reason the bank precedes the reasons and not the other way around.BrunoKnotslinger wrote: Why do we have a bank when PCs have no real incentives to use one since they can carry around their gold with them everywhere including when they die?
